MAGLEV, Inc. is a dynamic and mature organization composed of some of the southwestern Pennsylvania regions most prestigious organizations. Incorporated in 1990, its shareholders represent major industry, labor, and academia. Each shareholder contributes technical, political, and leadership guidance to the company. Some specific examples are: US Steel's participation in guideway development, Baker's expertise in construction and planning, Bombardier's experience with transit vehicles and control systems, Duquesne Light's power distribution capability, Carnegie Mellon's research capabilities, Wheeling Pitt's steel experience and the labor base of the USWA and Building and Construction Trades Unions.
